Welcome to VENOM!
If you haven't been to the Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in recent times, get with the program -- there's a whole new exhibit to check out!
Venom has on display a wide variety of colorful, intriguing and, well, venomous creatures and critters, including spiders, jellyfish, insects, scorpions, poison dart frogs, snakes, lizards and fish. In addition to the collection of various venomous beings, the exhibit explores the differences between poison and venom, educate visitors on poisons that can be found in the home, and take a look at the history of poison throughout the world....

Things to do at Effigy Mounds
Access to the Monument's natural and cultural features begins at the visitor center, which is located along the Mississippi River at the base of towering limestone bluffs. A 15-minute film interpreting the story of American Indian moundbuilding cultures, highlighting the "Effigy Mound Culture", is featured in the center's auditorium. Explore temporary exhibits, a children's "please touch" display, a formal museum exhibit displaying ancient Indian artifacts - and an educational bookstore....
